Artist, Ms.  BulBul Sharma
 

Bulbul Sharma (1952) did Bachelors in Russian language and Literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and later worked at the Lalit Kala Studios. The main theme of her paintings is women and environment. Her lush, intensely colored paintings depict gentle women in idyllic forest settings, and reflect her considerable interest in the natural world.
She has had many solo shows in prestigious art galleries and has widely participated in group shows in India and abroad. She has been a part of National Exhibition of Art at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. She has attended many Art Camps and conducted Workshops for NGOs and Schools. She has varied interests and has attended art workshops for paper mache, recycled paper making, mono-printing and paper pulp craft for children.
Bulbul uses the lyrical nuances of Kalidasa's poetry along with strong and vibrant colours setting up equation between flora, fauna and female form. She is also an author and has published ten collections of short stories which have been translated into French and Italian.
She is the Founder-President of an NGO-Sannidhi which does educational programmes for under privileged children in villages.
